Nigerian Man narrates How A Muslim Lady Refused to Sit Beside A Guy in a Bus

An unidentified Nigerian lady has become the topic of conversation on popular micro-blogging platform after she refused to sit beside a male passenger inside a commercial transport. 

This unidentified Muslim woman's story was shared on Twitter by a user identified as @sire_liljosh, and it caught the attention of many Nigerians on the platform. According to @sire_liljosh, the lady who was dressed in hijab had also refused to enter the bus because all the spaces left were beside men. The Twitter user had revealed that he shared the experience he had with the lady inside the public bus because he needed to find out her reason for what she did.

  @sire_liljosh asked Muslims on Twitter if a female sitting beside a male is haram in Islam. He said: "This is for my Muslim brothers and sisters, a lady in hijab wouldn't enter a public bus this morning just because she didn't want to sit beside a guy. My question is that, is sitting beside a guy an haram or it's just a personal decision?."

Nigerian Muslims had shared their thoughts on the young man's experience with the young Muslim lady. They noted that the lady's choice was a personal one, adding that it is not seen as haram in a public setting.
