- Nigerians called out the star after she mourned victims of the recent
New Zealand mosque terror attack
- They asked why she did not do the
same for people who died at the recent three storey building collapse in Lagos
The month of March has proved to be a challenging one going by the number of
tragic occurrences that have happened in just a short while. On March 15, 2019,
an Australian shooter identified as Brenton Tarrant, reportedly shot and killed
49 Muslims who were worshipping at mosques in New Zealand. The attack shook several
people all over the world and they trooped to social media to share their
condolences. One of the people who sympathised with those affected by the
attack is Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim.
The thespian took to her Instagram
page to share a memorial photo as she preached love and peace with her caption.
She wrote: “It is with heaviness of heart that the world has received the news
of the New Zealand terror attack. “My thoughts are with the good people of new
Zealand and I pray that they all find healing in this trying moment.
“Terrorism knows no religion or race. #newzealand
#christchurch #newzealandmosqueshooting #loveandlight”
However, some Nigerians were not too
impressed by her show of compassion seeing as she did not do a similar thing
when a three storey building which housed a nursery and primary school
collapsed in Lagos on March 13, 2019. Some of her fans took to the comment
section to call her a hypocrite while others shared their disappointment and
vowed to unfollow her on the app. However a few people felt there was nothing
wrong with the actress's action. See some reactions below: yvites_88: most
Nigerian celebrities are wannabes they focus on foreign news and forget about
their own country and the sad thing is that those foreign celebrities don’t
even know or talk about the tragedies that happens in Africa!! Not saying that
she shouldn’t have post but all lives matter and charity begins at home!!
