Kenneth Okonkwo was born in Enugu state on November 6, 1968. He obtained a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. After which he went on to obtain another one in Diplomacy and International Law from UNILAG. He also studied theology at Bible School

Kenneth Okonkwo graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State and later graduated with a Masters degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, Akoka. Kenneth Okonkwo became popularly known as ‘Andy’ following his role in the age long film Living in Bondage, the movie that gave birth to Nollywood. The film portrays the story of a man, Andy, whose desperation for wealth leads him to join a secret cult, sacrifice his wife in exchange for wealth, gain enormous wealth as a reward, but who is afterwards haunted by the ghost of his dead wife.

The film was directed by Chris Obi Rapu, written by Kenneth Nnebue and Okechukwu Ogunjiofor, and produced by Okechukwu Ogunjiofor. Other stars cast in Living in Bondage include Kanayo O. Kanayo, Francis Agu, Okechukwu Ogunjiofor, and a host of others.

Kenneth Okonkwo got saved in 1994. Narrating the story of his salvation Kenneth Okonkwo said:

“You know, when you think that material things, fame and fortune will make you happy and God deposited all these things in you, yet you are not happy, then, you just know that there is a vacuum. God must be interested in me. The story of my salvation is determined by the God Almighty. I just knew that truthfully without Him, I can’t do anything”.

Kenneth Okonkwo’s first marriage was in the year 2000, to Ogechi Ezekiel, the only daughter of Pastor Ezekiel, General Overseer of Christian Pentecostal Mission International. Kenneth Okonkwo’s union to Ogechi lasted barely two years and it ended in 2002. The crashed marriage produced a son. News of the Kenneth Okonkwo divorce shook the movie industry as Kenneth had turned born again even before they got married.

However, Kenneth Okonkwo found love again and re-married in 2007 to his present wife, Ifeoma. The couple was married for nine years before they finally welcomed their first child together at the University of Maryland, St. Joseph Medical Centre in the United States of America, on Saturday, May 7, 2016.
